"I am pregnant but I don't have a family doctor..."

I am three months pregnant with my first child. I recently got an Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) card, but I do not have a family doctor. I do not know to access the care I need for me and my baby.

If you don't have a family doctor...

  • North York General Hospital provides a list of family doctors and pediatricians in the greater North York area for new parents who do not have a family doctor.

  • Choosing a Prenatal Health Care Provider - This Toronto Public Health resource provides information on the different types of prenatal health care providers - doctors, midwives, nurse practitioners, doulas - and how to find them.

  • Postpartum Support Group - North York General Hospital hosts a free, self-referring virtual support group for individuals experiencing symptoms of postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression and/or would like support coping with a newborn.
